More Than Just a Poet—A True Brother

Haggis, Whiskey, and... Secrets? While the world knows him for Auld Lang Syne, we know him as the Brother who paid his 12s 6d initiation fee and found a home in the Craft for life.

Saved by the Square: When Burns was broke and ready to flee the country, it wasn't the critics who saved him—it was his Masonic Lodges who subscribed to his first edition and kept him on Scottish soil.

The Original Social Network: Burns called his Lodge meetings the "sons of light" and "social band." He believed the best nights of his life were spent in the "hieroglyphic bright" of the Lodge room.

We will begin the day with our regular Stated Meeting at Round Rock Masonic Lodge.

The Officer Procession begins promptly at 4:30 PM.
Following the conclusion of the meeting, we will transition to our Annual Burns Supper celebration at
Freda's Seafood and Grill.

Dinner commences at 7:00 PM

The evening will be filled with fraternal fellowship and Scottish tradition. To kick off the night, we will feature the dramatic Address to a Haggis. During dinner, various members will entertain us by reading their favorite poems and excerpts from the works of Robert Burns.

Join the Tradition We aren't just guests; we are the "favored, enlightened few" he wrote about. Don't miss your chance to celebrate the "Great Chieftain o' the Puddin-race" with the very Brethren Burns would have been proud to call his own.

Please RSVP by Jan. 21st, 2026 to confirm your attendance.

Dress Code: As a black-tie lodge, we kindly request that all guests wear a black suit when visiting.

We look forward to sharing this special evening with you!

Sincerely & Fraternally,
W:. Thomas D. McGuire, APM
