“A Texas Lodge with a Scot’s Accent”
This motto is unique to Robert Burns lodge and refers to our own nuanced brand of traditional Masonry built on a strong foundation of ritual excellence, elegance of dress, and a dining experience designed to enlighten and promote fellowship among brethren. To honor our namesake, Robert Burns lodge also incorporates bagpipe music and poetry readings from the canon of Brother Robert Burns where appropriate.
Burns Traditions
June Table Lodge
This festive board is conducted over dinner and follows an adapted German table lodge ritual with banquet tables arranged in a U-shaped configuration and a seating order designed to promote structure and fellowship. The Robert Burns Table Lodge includes the tradition of Masonic Fire--a series of toasts to our country & fraternity each followed by a formal battery and Vivat salute.
October Lecture Series
Every October, Robert Burns lodge offers its members & guests access to a top-level Masonic scholar, selected from a national pool, and invited to lecture on a Masonic topic of symbolic, esoteric, or historical significance. Funding for this event is supported through the annual Burns Cup Golf Tournament.
January Burns Night Celebration
Our Masonic Burns Night features a traditional Burns Supper complete with a formal bagpipe parade and ceremonial Address to the Haggis. Members and guests are served an authentic Scottish meal and enjoy an evening of celebration with proper honors extended to the United States of America, Grand Lodge of Texas, & Masonic brethren all.
